After a night in Beatty, Nevada, we headed to Gold Well Open Air Museum in Rhyolite, Nevada. My husband and I visited this place few years ago, and now we are back with our friends. Rhyolite is just about 30miles east of Death Valley National Park.

On a small piece of property on the outskirt of the ghost town, is the Gold Well Open Air Museum, owned by a Belgian artist Albert Szukalski along with his business partner which started in 1984. He and a group of artist created weird and wonderful sculptures on display here:

The Last Supper – created in 1984 by Albert Szukalski

The Ghost Rider – created in 1984 by Albert Szukalski

The Labyrinth – created in 2008 by Unknown. As they said, it just appeared there and visitors enjoy walking and meditating around it.

“Sit Here”  – Created in 2000 by Sofie Siegmann

Icara  – created in 1992 by Dre Peeters

We enjoyed our short trip to Death Valley and Beatty, Nevada…
and promise to be back again…
